As fans eagerly anticipate the January 2025 transfer window reports of Man City’s first player target of the window have emerged in the recent news.

It has been revealed that the 2023/2024 Premier League champions, Man City are showing strong interest in signing Georgiy Sudakov, a 22-year-old midfielder from Shakhtar Donetsk as one of their player moves for the January 2025 transfer window.

Speculations are that as Kevin De Bruyne’s contract with the club is slowly coming to an end, the hierarchy at the club are preparing for a possible exit with this move for Sudakov as they consider him a long-term successor of the Belgian.

While speaking with Goal and Spox, Shakhtar Donetsk’s general director Sergiy Palkin revealed this by saying, â€œManchester City is interested in him, and other clubs from England are also watching him. I’m sure several clubs will make offers for him during the transfer window.”

He revealed that they were very close to selling the Ukraine international during the summer, however, the deal fell through, he said, “Six months ago we negotiated a transfer with SSC Napoli, but that didn’t work out.”
