There are some players who leave Manchester United and you never hear from them again, for one reason or another.
And there are others who despite their exits, retain strong connections with their former teammates and the fanbase.
It should not come as a surprise that young defender Willy Kambwala falls into the latter category.
Kambwala sealed a move to Villarreal earlier this summer, and continues to keep an eye on his former team and teammates.
Kambwala praises Amad
Manchester United’s most recent friendly was the 3-2 win over theirLa Liga side Real Betis. The Spanish media praised United’s performance, picking out Amad Diallo and Marcus Rashford for praise.
Amad was one of the stars, continuing a major theme of pre-season so far.
He scored one goal and won a penalty, and looked threatening whenever he was in possession, earning praise from Erik ten Hagafter the win.
Former star Willy Kambwala reached out to Amad on Instagram, sending a message which translated to ‘You are too strong…”
It’s hard to argue. Amad was head and shoulders above every player on the pitch in San Diego.
Garnacho message mirrors Amad’s
There was another message from Amad’s current Manchester United teammate Alejandro Garnacho, who has just returned to England.
Garnacho wrote to Amad: “30 G/A incoming”, tipping his teammate to produce a combined 30 goals and assists this season.
This message mirrored one Amad sent to Garnacho last week, where he tipped the Argentine to score 30 goals and assists in 2024/25.
If one of them can do so, then United will be in a good place next season. Both, and we might really be onto something.
