Victor Osimhen might still be playing his football in the Jersey of Napoli after PSG decided to withdraw their interest in signing the Nigerian forward player.

Osimhen had agreed to terms with PSG and was keen on a return to France, however, reports from France confirmed that PSG decided to leave Victor Osimhen’s deal due to the conditions that were placed on the table by Napoli.

Why did PSG withdraw from Victor Osimhen’s deal?

PSG had discussions with the Italian club about signing Osimhen suffered a setback because an agreement could not be reached on a fee or the inclusion of Kang-in Lee in the deal. They have also sent a message to Napoli that they will not trigger the release clause of the forward player as it was initially expected.

What does this mean for PSG?

PSG have shown interest in signing João Neves as they hope to wrap up the signing of the Portuguese midfielder.

Transfer news expert, Fabrizio Romano also confirmed on his YouTube page that they are happy with Molo Muani and Goncalo Ramos, who is still with the club.

He said,

“Over the weekend and especially in the last 24 hours, Napoli wanted to include Lee Kang-in as part of the deal. For PSG: impossible, no way, [he’s a] really important player. So, PSG said no to Lee Kang-in being involved in the deal. So, no agreement between clubs. Napoli started asking again for the value of the release clause, €120m, €130m. PSG will not pay that money. So, PSG said no to paying the release clause. In case it was an open deal with different conditions, PSG were open. Now, the deal is currently on standby and could be off because there is a big gap in valuation…Deal currently stopped because negotiations can’t advance like this.”

This could also affect Chelsea as they are looking to offload Romelu Lukaku to Napoli, the deal is hinged on Osimhen, leaving Naples.
