Latest update on Jadon Sancho’s future at Manchester United

2 min read

Jadon Sancho has rejoined Manchester United for pre-season training after resolving issues with the club’s manager, Erik Ten Hag.

The 24-year-old had a falling out with Ten Hag last season, leading to him training separately from the first team after contradicting the manager’s comments following a game against Arsenal in the 2023/24 season. This disagreement resulted in Jadon Sancho being loaned back to his former club, Borussia Dortmund, in January 2024.

During his time at Dortmund, Sancho played a significant role in the team’s success, including reaching the UEFA Champions League final, where they were defeated by Real Madrid. Following a meeting earlier in the week between Ten Hag and Sancho, both parties agreed to put their differences behind them.

Manchester United officially announced Sancho’s return on its website on Friday, July 12, 2024. In the statement, it was confirmed that,

“A group of senior players, including Andre Onana, Casemiro, Mason Mount, and Marcus Rashford, had returned for training on Monday. Sancho returned for testing on Wednesday and joined the group for training on Thursday.”
