Viktor Gyokeres, a target for Manchester United and Arsenal, is prepared to play in the Premier League, according to former Chelsea player John Obi Mikel.
Since joining Sporting CP from Coventry City in 2023, Gyokeres has excelled for the Portuguese team.
In 67 games for the team, Gyokeres has scored 66 goals and provided 19 assists.
When Sporting Ruben Amorim takes over at Old Trafford next week, Manchester United supporters are hopeful that the Swede will join the team.
This season, Manchester United has only managed to score goals in nine out of ten Premier League games.
However, Arsenal is probably going to compete with Manchester United for Gyokeres’ services.
Mikel was gushing about the Swedish striker while he was on the Obi One Podcast, Chelsea Legends.
“Definitely. For me, he is a Premier League player, he’s a player that suits the Premier League. He has every attribute to be a Premier League player, strong, big, quick, and most importantly goalscoring,” said Obi Mikel.
“He can score goals and when you look at it, his goal-scoring ratio is better than any striker right now in Europe, the stats are there to back it up.
“He has been absolutely fantastic. Scoring three goals against Man City, you don’t hear that often. He has been fantastic and looks a little bit like [Erling] Haaland.”
