As anticipation for the Chelsea vs Arsenal premier league fixture intensifies, the referee officiating the fixture has been confirmed.
It has now been revealed that the English FA has assigned Micheal Oliver as the referee officiating the highly anticipated Premier League fixture slated for this weekend, Chelsea vs Arsenal scheduled to be played at Stamford Bridge.
Earlier in the season, Oliver was the referee for Arsenal’s 2-2 draw against Manchester City. In the first half, he sent off Leandro Trossard for kicking the ball away, a controversial decision made while Arsenal were ahead 2-1.
This will be Oliver’s first Arsenal fixture since that game where he had shown the Belgian a controversial red card. He’ll make the crucial calls for the Blues’ encounter, assisted by Stuart Burt and James Mainwaring.
Andy Madley is set to be the fourth official, with Paul Tierney overseeing VAR.
