Manchester United has confirmed in an official statement that Erik Ten Hag has been sacked as the club’s manager.

In a surprising turn of events, Manchester United in an official announcement confirmed the sack of Erik Ten Hag, ending the Dutch manager’s tenure at Old Trafford earlier than expected.

Expectations were high heading into Erik Ten Hag’s second full season, with fans hopeful that the Dutch manager would build on last season’s foundations and drive the club toward serious competition. However, since the start of this season, Manchester United found themselves struggling to gain momentum, in not only domestic competitions but also in Europa.

Their slow start into the season caused fans to clamour for Ten Hag’s exit from the club, as the club recorded a total of 4 losses, 3 wins and 2 draws in the Premier League, pushing them to 14th place on the table

Who is Man United’s new coach?

Manchester United released an official statement revealing that Ruud van Nistelrooy will manage the team until they find a replacement.

The official statement stated, “Erik ten Hag has left his role as Manchester United men’s first-team manager. We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future. Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of the team as interim head coach, supported by the current coaching team, whilst a permanent head coach is recruited”.
