Real Madrid’s manager, Carlo Ancelotti has spoken about what he expects from his forward player, Kylian Mbappe as the 2024/25 season progresses.
The Italian was speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of the UEFA Champions League game against Bundesliga side, Borussia Dortmund, on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. Carlo Ancelotti revealed what he expects from his forward player, who arrived for free during the 2024 summer transfer window as a free agent from PSG.
He said,
“I prefer him to score goals, I prefer him to score goals rather than press. The role of the centre-forward has not changed, I ask the same thing of him as of Karim (Benzema): to position himself well and be smart every time we recover the ball to make a quick transition.”
Kylian Mbappé has played in 12 out of the thirteen matches played by Real Madrid across all competitions, most of which was as a starter. He scored eight goals and provided an assist for the Los Blancos.
The former PSG player has been in the media for the wrong reasons in the past few days after he was accused of rape by a Swedish media house. However, the 25-year-old striker scored in the 2-1 victory away at Celta Vigo on Saturday, October 19, 2024 in the league.
