Chelsea’s defender, Levi Colwill, has opened up about his struggles at the club under former manager Mauricio Pochettino last season (2023/24).

The English International was speaking in an interview where he spoke about how he was played out of position in the center-back alongside Thiago Silva. According to Levi Colwill, he played in a position that is not really his which did not make him effective.

“Last year I played in a position that ain’t really mine and I struggled at times but this year I feel much more confident. I can make passes to Noni and show my passing range a bit more.”

Levi Colwill’s impressive performances for Chelsea’s U23s earned him a loan move to Huddersfield Town in 2022. He made 29 appearances, helping the Terriers reach the Championship playoff final.

Following his successful loan spell, Colwill returned to Chelsea, signing a new long-term contract. He has since become an integral part of Thomas Tuchel’s squad, making his Premier League debut in 2023.

Colwill has started the season in fine form for the Blues alongside Wesley Fofana at the back. And teammate Noni Madueke has recently heaped praise on the defensive duo during his interview, he spoke highly about how his form has improved under Enzo Maresca.

Chelsea supporters will hope that Colwill will continue in that good form as they progress into the season.
