Kai Havertz, with his goal against Southampton, has joined Robin Van Persie as the only player with this goalscoring record for Arsenal.
Following an impressive goal in the Premier League fixture against Southampton, Kai Havertz has joined Robin Van Persie as the only player to set an impressive record when it comes to goals for Arsenal.
Havertz joined Van Persie as the only player for the Gunners to score in seven straight games at the Emirates Stadium.
Saints forward Cameron Archer, who replaced Ross Stewart after 27 minutes, gave Russell Martin’s side a surprising lead.
But Arsenal responded swiftly, with Havertz delivering a clinical run and strike to level the score at 1-1, putting the Gunners in prime position to push for all three points.
Havertz’s 58th-minute goal marks his fourth Premier League goal of the season and his 20th overall for Arsenal.
In an initial interview, Mikel Arteta revealed how to get the best out of Kai Havertz stating that, ‘Love. He’s a player that needs a lot of love. He needs to feel protected, he needs to feel chemistry around him. In football and in life he gives so much to everybody, so he needs that connection with the people. He got that from ourselves, and the moment he started to grow with our supporters I think that gave him a different dimension, different confidence.’
