Chelsea Football Club and Napoli have reportedly reached an agreement for Romelu Lukaku’s deal just a few days before the 2024 summer transfer window closes.
Transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Napoli are willing to pay €30 million to Chelsea, with €15 million in add-ons, which is based on the performance of Romelu Lukaku. The Blues original request was for a fee of around €42m, which would be enough for them to avoid making a capital loss on the staggering €113m fee they paid Inter Milan back in the summer of 2021.
Romelu Lukaku has spent the past two seasons on loan in Italy at both Inter Milan and AS Roma and he will reunite with Antonio Conte at Napoli, having enjoyed a fantastic season under the Italian at Inter scoring 70 goals in 129 appearances.
The Belgian’s arrival in Naples will likely see the end of Victor Osimhen’s time at the club, the Nigerian is eager to leave Napoli and he is Chelsea’s number one transfer target as the Blues look to purchase a new number nine before the transfer deadline day on August 30, 2024.
Osimhen has also been linked with a move to Arsenal, but it is yet to be seen which club he will play at the end of the transfer window.
