Rema redefines the Afrobeats genre with sophomore album ‘HEIS’

Following the release of HEHEHE, singer Rema who cleared all doubt as part of the Big 4 has solidified his position as the Prince of Afrobeats with the release of HEIS album.

Multiple award-winning singer and performer Rema has once again created a phenomenon around the Afrobeats genre amidst initial fears and speculations of it fading into extinction and losing its essence on the global stage with his first project of 2024 which is also his second studio album titled HEIS.

The singer proved once again that he is way ahead of his prime in the music industry in Nigeria from his album rollout to the pre-release track, song titles and every aspect of the HEIS screams how much of a creative genius Rema is.

The 11 tracks album features what fans have now categorized as a pallet of different explorative genres of music creating a fusion with the existing afrobeats sound thereby birthing a new style of Afrobeats many have categorized as the future of the genre as a whole in the coming days, weeks or years.

With just Shallipopi (HEHEHE) and Odumodublvck featured on the album as a whole, it becomes clear that Rema is attempting to give fans an unadulterated version of himself and his new sound. HEIS also indicates Rema’s approach to connecting with the streets with this project.
